Our curated slab building ceramic kits are beginner friendly and contain everything you need to get started on your ceramics journey. Each kit includes:

- Speckled Clay (each kit includes 1.8 kgs of clay, a standard coffee mug is made from 350g of clay, so each kit should be enough to make roughly 5 medium sized items)

Our Clay-

We have selected high quality hand building clay that is super easy to work with and has a beautiful dark body and iron speckle for a cool effect once glazed!

If you choose to fire your creations to make them food safe and waterproof, we have provided a comprehensive list of firing facilities all around Australia on our website, so you will be able to identify somewhere close to get your work fired! We also include our clay type and firing temps on each of our clay bags for handy reference to take to the firing facility. This will also help you build relationships with your local firing facility so that you can continue with your ceramics journey. If you don’t have a kiln close to you, don’t panic! You can still air dry your creations for decorative purposes.

Our instructions-

We have created a simple instruction booklet which introduces the tools, guides you through the process of slab building and teaches you how to recycle and reuse your clay! Each guidebook has helpful illustrations to go along with steps to help us visual learners. If you like a more structured approach to learning, your kit also includes slab construction pattern sheets that you can use. You can also make your own patterns to repeat shapes, or free hand it!
